Fraud cases: Directors of 2 e-commerce platforms arrested

Criminal Investigation Department of police detained directors of the online marketplaces Nirapad.com along with 24tkt.Ltd in separate investigations for embezzling funds of customers.

Nirapad.com Director Farhana Afroz Annie (29) was detained in the Kawla area in the capital, and 24tkt.Ltd Director Md Rakibul Hasan (35) was detained from Sadar upazila in Chuadanga district, as per separate press releases released today by the CID today.

Following their arrest on the morning of yesterday, both suspects were brought before the court today.

A case was brought against Nirapad.com in conjunction with Fatullah Police Station in Narayanganj on October 2 , while a different instance was filed against the online ticketing agency 24tkt.Ltd in conjunction with Uttara (West) police station in Delhi on 3 October.

Both cases were brought pursuant to the Digital Security Act for embezzling money from customers , by ripping off them.

The CID continued to find the other suspects in the cases, and added the two release.

The Additional Superintendent of the CID (media) Azad Rahman confirmed the news.
